GMS v.109 – Alliance Eternal

A little while ago, that means I’m late with this post, MapleStory was updated to Alliance Eternal! This update is particularly focusing on the skill revamp of the Cygnus Knights, Warrior, Bowman, Magician and Ultimate Explorer. Besides the things there were also updates for Nett’s Pyramid and Lion King’s Castle (LHC) and new quests for Cygnus Knights and Explorers were added. Read on for more information about all these things!

Before I’m gonna write anything about the updates, first I’m showing you the new login screen background:

Just showing the revamped classes with some cute monsters :). And no, I’m not playing on Bera, it was just selected when I took the picture.

Now, let’s start with the first updates: Class revamps. Warrior, Magician, Bowman and the Knights of Cygnus have been revamped. Well, just a few skill changes have been made, but at least it’s something :). These changes are to make the power of these classes equal to the Legends classes. They were overpowered.

Here are the changes. I’ve almost completely copied the skill changes from the Nexon site. I just made some names bold, changed some text and I added a few pictures. I mean, who cares about it that it’s the same as on the Nexon website? I’m just lazy today =):

Quests

Then the new quests I told you about in the beginning of this post. First of all, the Awakening Quests for Explorers and Knights of Cygnus. The quests Explorer Awakening for Explorers or Cygnus Knight Awakening for Cygnus Knights are level 10+ and can be started by clicking the star-shaped icon on the left of your screen. The rewards of the quest are 1 SP Reset Scroll.

New Level 110 quests for Cygnus Knights were added. There are some new quest chains in which you have to solve the mystery of the Clock Tower in Ludibrium. As reward you get 5 skill points.

Max level quests for Cygnus Knights are also new, including again quest chains where you have to deal with Arkarium. The Skill ”Noble Spirit” can be raised by killing him.

Lion King’s Castle

Let’s move on to the renewed Lion King’s Castle! From now on it’s a theme dungeon. It’s level 100+.

You’ll get a quest through the quest notifier, and you’re sent to the Desolated Moor* after you accept the quest.

*:

This map now contains NPC’s! Glibber, the Merchant, and Krag, the Quest giver.

Ani, which was a boss here, has been removed, and has been replaced by a boss you’ll encounter when you advance into the story line: Prison Guard Ani. Lol, I like the new name. Longer names mean more overpowered monsters! But that’s not right at this mob. His level raised, but his HP and EXP has dropped…

To be able to defeat Prison Guard Ani, you have to be in a party with 1 to 3 118+ party members. Rewards of killing him:

  • For Cygnus Knights and Dual Blades: Special Potential Scroll
  • For everyone else: Luden’s Mastery Book
  • 1 Heart of a Lion
  • EXP
  • He will also drop Ani’s Box
You might be wondering what this Mastery Book does! Well, it will yield a random Mastery Book for everyone except Cygnus Knights and Dual Blades.
Ani’s Box may contain various items and scrolls, including:
  • Lion King’s One-Handed Weapon ATT Scroll: Beefs up Weapon Attack on any one-handed weapon. Success Rate: 70%, Weapon ATT +2, All Stats +1, does not destroy item upon failure.
  • Lion King’s One-Handed Weapon M. ATT Scroll: Enhances Magic Attack on any one-handed weapon. Success Rate: 70%, Magic ATT +2, All Stats +1, does not destroy item upon failure.
  • Lion King’s Two-Handed Weapon ATT Scroll: Beefs up Weapon Attack on any two-handed weapon. Success Rate: 70%, Weapon ATT +2, All Stats +1, does not destroy item upon failure.

After you reach level 140, no scrolls out of Ani’s box are obtainable anymore.

Oh, and thank god, NO MORE STUPID INVITATIONS! :D You know, those red enveloppes bouncing above your head…? I hated those.

Nett’s Pyramid

Next up.. Nett’s Pyramid! Yup, it’s got revamped again. And DANG IT! I can’t play the most important thing of this revamp: the renewed Hard Mode. It’s now a tower-defense for characters who are level 90 – 109.. My characters are 132, 143, 75, 73, etc.. Well, I’ll try to explain it without pictures.

Like I said before, Hard mode of Nett’s Pyramid has become a Tower Defense mode, which means that you have have to defend things while waves of monsters come out. In this case you have to defend an obelisk against 20 waves of monsters. Defending this obelisk also grants you Nett’s Emeralds . These Emeralds can be spent at Duarte. He sells stuff:

Set:

Other things that have changed are:
  • You can enter Nett’s Pyramid 5 times a day.
  • Four people in a party is required.

Miscellaneous Adjustments

– New 2nd job advancement quests added for Lv. 30 Battle Mages.
– Players can obtain 7 SP for 2nd job skills by completing the new quest [Boulder Muncher Test?!] from NPC Brighton in Secret Plaza.
– Players can preview styles in Royal Face and Hair Coupons by double-clicking those items in the Cash Shop.

Well, I think that was all.. I’m sorry for those many copy-paste things, but there’s just not many in this patch I want to/can write many more of. I hope the next patch will be more interesting so I can write more stuff :)

Happy Mapling!
