GMS v.110 – Lucky 7th Mapleversary

[Update] Added quest goals for the Star-quests.

[Update2] Embedded a YouTube video of the soundtrack of the Rising Star Hall.

[Update3] Added some pictures of NPC’s with new outfits!

The ”Lucky 7th Mapleversary” update has now gone live! This update doesn’t really have new ‘content’, but it just includes many new events and items, like I said in my previous post. Nearly all of these events have to do with the 7th Mapleversary. There are also some things not related to this anniversary, like the Socket System which gets a revamp! Please read on!

A new background has been added to the World-selection screen!

You can see Valerie, Lilin and Cygnus performing on stage! This is an actual in-game event.

(lol, badly photoshopped!)

This time I want to start a post with the events (which happens rarely) because this time those are the main part of the update.

Legends Character Creation Event (5/10 – 5/23)

For a limited time, the Legends characters can be created again! However, only one of the three Legends Characters can be made per account! So if you’re going to create a character, choose wisely and be sure you really want to create it on that world.

I’ll show you how to create one. First just log in and choose your desired world to play in. When you arrive at the character selection screen, you will notice a new banner. Click on the ”Click” button.

After you clicked it, the character creation screen pops up, but you can only see the Cannoneer, Mercedes and Demon Slayer.

Now you can create one of these characters once!

Cake Boss Invasion (5/10 – 5/31)

It’s finally time for the Cake Boss event! Every 12 hours, the Cake Boss will spawn at Henesys and Leafre (The timer starts running after a server maintenance or when the Cake Boss has been defeated).

Kill it and it’s minions to receive mesos, buffs and restorative items!

Lucky 7th Mapleversary Event (5/10 – 5/31)

The anniversary event is split up in other events. I will discuss them one by one.

7th Mapleversary Quests

7th Anniversary Maple Leaves and 7th Anniversary Boxes are dropped by monsters now.

The box may contain items like 7th Anniversary Coins, which I will be talking about next in this post, as well as (potions?)

You are also able to receive Leaves by levelling up. The Maple Administrator gives you Leaves for each level up. Because I am level 145, I got 146 leaves at once!

These leaves aren’t useless. You can bring them in sets of 100 leaves to Maple Administrator in order to get a 7th Anniversary Coin. Old leaves from other years can also be turned in in sets of 500 to get 700(?) 7th Anniversary Leaves.

As the description in the picture says, you can spend the coins at Inkwell’s 7th Anniversary Shop to buy Beryl Maple Equiment, special scrolls and a Joy Bird Feather. I made an easy overview of the shop:

The Joy Bird Feather is used to upgrade Beryl Maple Equipment, which requires level 45, to Crimson Maple Equipment, which requires level 70. The color of the Crimson Equipment is red instead of green.

Pendants of the Spirit are obtainable each day for players who are over level 13. The Maple Administrator will give you one each day for free! The more hours you play, the more Exp you get!

Now another important part, the 7th Anniversary Diary. You can obtain this Diary by talking to Cassandra if you’re level 13 or over. Double click to open it.

This Diary shows you all the things you have to do to get the awesome Lucky 7th Mapleversary Medal.

I’ll explain you what you actually have to do to complete the stuff in the Diary.

  • Joy Bird Feather: Obtain Joy Bird Feathers eight times.
  • Defeat Joy Birds: Seems clear! The birds spawn anywhere in the Maple World, except  Masteria, Amoria, or World Tour maps.
  • Orange Mushroom Mount: Obtain an Orange Mushroom Mount.
  • Potted Mini Maple Tree: Raise 8 Potted Mini Maple Trees.
  • Dance Practise: Help Lilin, Valerie or Cygnus with Dance Training for 8 days.
  • Vocal Training: Help Lilin, Valerie or Cygnus with Vocal Training for 8 days.
  • Instrument Practice: Help Lilin, Valerie or Cygnus with Instrument Practice for 8 days.
  • Moral Support: Cheer Lilin, Valerie or Cygnus for 8 days.
  • Promotion: Help Lilin, Valerie or Cygnus promoting them for 8 days.
  • Beautification: Pretty up Lilin, Valerie or Cygnus for 8 days.

I will now discuss each of these ”events”.

Joy Bird & Star Paparazzi

Joy Birds and Star Paparazzi spawn all over the Maple world except in Masteria, Amoria, or World Tour maps.

  ——->

The Joy Bird can drop 30 and 60% scrolls, as well as Joy Bird Feathers and Glittering Joy Bird Feathers. The Joy Bird Feathers have a 40% chance to succeed on Beryl Equipment and the Glittering ones have a 100% of succeeding.

Potted Mini Maple Tree Raising

Potted Mini Maple Trees are dropped by monsters. (It took me 10 minutes of killing monsters before I found one o.o)

When picked up, you can put them in your Item Pot. Open it by pressing the specified key (Default: Y). If you haven’t put anything in it yet, it looks like this:

Put the Tree in, and it will look like this:

The Fullness bar (vertical bar) is now empty. You will need to feed him equipment or Etc. stuff to fill up the Fullness bar. It’s very useful to stock up in Etc. junk! When the Fullness bar is filled up, the tree goes to sleep. It will wake up in 30 minutes.

After you waited 30 minutes it is in fase two. You have to feed it stuff again, and then once more, so it is level 4.

Now it’s level 4 ,you can harvest the tree. It is now fully grown up and carries one Golden Maple Fruit.

Use this Fruit to receive one of these possible rewards:

  •  7th Anniversary Coin.
  •  Joyous 7th Dark Scroll.
  •  One of 10 3-day mounts.
(I got the Orange Mushroom mount the first time!)

Rising Star Contest

This is actually a pretty cool event! In this event, Lilin, Valerie and Cygnus are in a singing competition. They want you to join their fanclub. First you have to join on of the three. Do this by accepting the quest [Join] I am a Lilin Fan or [Join] I am a Valerie Fan or [Join] I am a Cygnus Fan. You can check their looks and stuff at the tab ”Rising Star” in the 7th Anniversary Diary. I’ll write more about this tab later in the post.

I chose Valerie, she just looks so cool! In the quest dialogue, Cassandra tells you that you can go to the Rising Star Hall where you can meet the three stars. This place has a so awesome sound track!

Here’s a YouTube video of the soundtrack:

The star you chose has quests for you to complete. These:

For each quest you have to do something else:

  • Vocal: Collect bells: Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Ti and Do.
  • Instrument: Bring 8 pages of Orpheus’s Sheet Music
  • Dance: Hold a machine for 30 minutes, then bring it to your Star.
  • Fame: Collect 5 Encouragement Placards.
  • Looks: Kill 200 monsters from around your level.
  • Reputation: Get one Humilating Picture Film from Star Paparazzi.

Upon completion, you get Maple Leaves. This way you help the stars to get better, and you can see the rankings of the stars too!

Woo! Valerie is currently on the second place! :3

You can see your own Rising Star progress right under the ”Rising Star” tab in the 7th Anniversary Diary.

Note: Each quest can be repeated as many times as you want, but it will count only once a day for the Medal progress.

Complete enough quests to get one of the three Fan Club Balloons!

Every Sunday at 2 PM and 5 PM, the stars will perform in the Rising Star Hall with the original Korean voices! I’m very curious how it sounds!

Alright.. those were all of the events! Let’s move on to the new items that came into the game with this anniversary.

Revised Content

Socket System Revamp

The Socket System has got a little revamp! Here are some changes:

  • Nebulites used to stay in your inventory forever. They expire after 30 days now.
  • You have less chance to get a Nebulite Box from a monster.
  • NPC Bo now only explains you how sockets work, he no longer makes them.
  • Nebulite Gachapon has been placed in New Leaf City. It just works the same as normal Gachapons, but you can only get Nebulites out of these. Nebulites have been removed out of  the NLC Gachapon.
  • You can now fuse Nebulites through a newly added Beginner skill; Nebulite Fusion.

Double-click the skill to open the Fusion window.

Drag two Nebulites in it that you want to fuse, and another one pops out :)

  • If you collect 20 Premium Fusion Ticket Pieces, you can double-click them to obtain a Premium Fusion Ticket. You need 1 Premium Fusion Ticket for B-Rank Nebulite, and 2 Premium Fusion Tickets for A-Rank Nebulite.

-Other Changes-

  • The Echo Megaphone board has been removed. (FINALLY!!)
  • The background and item name colors for chat window Gachapon announcements have been changed to light blue and dark blue.
  • Sharing Tags can now be used on Royal Elven Tiaras.
  • Additional items created from illicit item generation and duplication have been deleted.
  • Certain invalid Monster Familiar cards for GMS were deleted. Players with these cards in their inventories were given other cards of equivalent levels.
  • Certain scrolls have been movement restricted to be only tradeable within the same account, between your characters on the same world.
  • The important ”event” NPC’s now wear a sweet new outfit!

So, I think that was all! I hope you enjoyed reading, and as always, Happy Mapling!
