Real life/blog-related

Hi there! My name is Sietse, I’m currently 19 years old and I live in Groningen, The Netherlands. I’m attending the University of Groningen for the study Information Science.

Back in July of 2011, after being inspired by popular MapleStory-related blogs, I decided to create my own blog about the North American version of MapleStory (GMS), since I used to play on that version a lot more often than on the European version.

During the years 2011-2014 I was actively writing posts about MapleStory updates, while my life was getting busier and busier. At some point I was in my last year of high school, when I could not combine writing posts and studying for my exams any longer. I also started losing interest in the game. This was in 2014, when I wrote my last post for a long time.

In 2016, just after the fifth job update was released, I kind of got my interest for this game back. For now, there still isn’t much to see on this blog, but who knows, maybe I’ll return in the future!

I started playing Global MapleStory somewhere back in 2006. Being a 9/10-year old, my English was very bad, so I switched over to EMS fairly quickly after it was released. I would play with my brother and friends all the time, and I remember hitting level 20, the required level for Kerning PQ, used to be a huge achievement for me…

Unfortunately, good things can’t continue forever, and my brother quit MapleStory after a few years, and so did a lot of friends. I didn’t want to play alone, so I quit as well… Only to return some time later, somewhere in 2010, after the Big Bang update. This time, however, I chose to play on GMS again, as this version of the game had more content, and I didn’t have friends that played on EMS anyway. I made a lot of online friends, and really enjoyed the game. I played regularly until 2013/14, which was the point that I started losing interest in the game.

Right now, I play MapleStory every now and then, just to check out new content that gets released. Most of the characters that I created over the years are on Windia, while I created my first ever character on Scania. My highest-leveled character is a Kaiser, which I usually play to check out new content.

  1. Thx, I added your website to my fav. Awseome… I got more info here on the events than the Nexon website. Same thing… didn’t find anything bout the Hot time event on nexon exept the “scania world thing”… Kinda late tought. Anyway, good job for the infos.

    • Well, thanks! I’m always trying to put more info in my posts (pictures, other things, etc..) than Nexon does. Otherwise, my blog would be useless :)

Edit: You can also subscribe on my blog to receive all my new posts in your e-mail box!

    • Wow, thank you very much! I’ve been working very hard the past year to keep my blog up and running. Also, take a look at the ‘Links’ tab ;)
